A few weeks ago INTEL® presented the 11th generation of its Core™ processor family. Using the code name Tiger Lake, the company is now mainly forcing so-called high-computing applications.

This processor family, manufactured in the ten-nanometer (10nm) process, is intended to provide more power in the future and also features an integrated AI engine. The new Iris Xe GPU provides the high-performance CPU with additional options for handling the constantly increasing complexity of innovative applications.

Like its previous generations, Tiger Lake will be available in Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7, each with four cores and eight threads.

The clock rate will probably be between 3.5 and 4.8 GHz, which can only be confirmed with the official launch in the embedded market at the beginning of next year. 

In the consumer market, INTEL® has announced an improvement in CPU performance of around 20%. Such an increase in performance will also provide our customers with additional opportunities to realize their specific applications in areas such as digital defense, IT security, server infrastructures and high-performance communication. Thanks to the product solutions of our well-known suppliers Kontron, congatec and ADLINK, we will also be able to realize projects based on INTEL® Tiger Lake soon.
